Black Hills Creative Exchange

Black Hills Creative Exchange grew out of a few wild ideas, lots of daydreaming, and a simple wish: that there were more opportunities in our small town to gather, learn, and share ideas.

 

You don’t have to be a professional artist to create something artistic or meaningful. We all have talents, passions, curiosity, and that very human need to create something new—and we hope to help fill that need. Based in Custer, South Dakota, we’re a community for writers, photographers, visionaries, and curious creators of all ages and skill levels. Most of all, we want to provide a place where people feel welcome to try something new, meet interesting people, and let their creativity wander.

Our goal is to offer regular workshops and presentations where people can learn a new skill, explore a creative interest, or find the inspiration and encouragement to finally bring an idea to life.

 

Upcoming workshops will include Nature Photography Basics, Smartphone Photography, Songwriting, and Watercolor Painting, along with plenty of other ideas we’re dreaming up. Our workshops are fun, fulfilling, and affordable so everyone has an opportunity to participate.
